General Accountability

Reporting to the Verner Petroleum/Propane Manager, the Assistant is mainly concerned with assisting the Manager in the department, with drivers, help manage the company’s fleet of vehicles and offer direction to the team to drive the growth of revenue and productivity and promote high quality customer satisfaction.

Job Duties

  • Driver dispatch (supervise and help)
  • Shrinkage report (assist/balance)
  • Customer Focus/Relations
  • Oversee rentals
  • Inventory controller (Verner Bulk Plant) (Shrink & Balance)
  • Assist with Cardlock throughputs
  • Quality Orientation
  • Time Management
  • Inventory control of all products
  • Assist with Service maintenance schedules in conjunction with fleet manager (B - train only)
  • Planning and Organizing
  • Assist in pricing, allocations and Account receivables and payables
  • Retail fuel analysis (estimated margin for following day/week)
  • Dependable, Ethical, and have Integrity
  • Providing Consultation to customers
  • Tank set up into system
  • Assist with the Dyed tax claim, dyed tax audit and Indigenous tax claim
  • Coaching and Mentoring
  • Assist with Staff Management
  • Enforcing Laws, Rules and Regulations
  • Oversee Provincial and federal tax claims 

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • High School diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent
  • Post Secondary diploma or degree in a technical field preferred
  • Effective leadership skills, with a strong focus on operations and business processes. 
  • Able to identify key issues; creatively and strategically overcome internal challenges or obstacles. 
  • A clear and solid understanding of personnel policies, practices, and procedures and other operational issues faced by the organization. 
  • Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy. 
  • High level of integrity, confidentially, and accountability. 
  • Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills. 
  • A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills. 

Work Conditions

  • Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
  • Overtime as required.
  • On-Call as required.
  • May require some overnight travel.
