General Accountability

The Petroleum Driver is responsible for the delivery of petroleum products over established routes. Responsibilities include the correct loading of the vehicle, recording of delivery information, and ensuring overall vehicle safety. The Petroleum Driver will be expected to always operate the delivery vehicle in a safe manner, obeying all rules of the road, and follow all appropriate company policies and procedures. The Petroleum Drivers generally work without direct supervision. Overtime and weekend work is common.

Job Duties

  • Perform daily pre-trip inspection, keep vehicle clean
  • Record and maintain required documentation including driver logbook, bills of lading, etc.
  • Communicate with central dispatch as well as customers and co-workers
  • Safely operate delivery truck to pick up and deliver various products obeying all rules of the road
  • Provide the delivery of fuel as required and maintains appropriate levels
  • Complete all load-related documentation ensuring its accuracy
  • Record unloading of products ensuring that it is complete and accurate
  • Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations or damages
  • Comply with applicable legislation including safe operation, driver's hours of service, occupational health and safety, transportation of dangerous goods, and weight
  • Maintain current legislated or company required licenses, permits and certificates
  • Promote Co-opérative Régionale’s products, services, and philosophy
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Valid DZ License
  • Clean Driver’s Abstract
  • Petroleum Delivery Experience an asset
  • Computer knowledge
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to perform routine vehicle maintenance
  • Exceptional organizational abilities and time management techniques
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to work with little supervision
  • Good knowledge of the Highway Traffic, the Truck Transportation and Gasoline Handling Acts.
