General Accountability

The Office clerk will be responsible for providing a variety of administrative, clerical and accounting services to ensure effective and efficient administrative operations. Responsibilities will mostly include processing account receivables, greeting and assisting clients at the counter, accepting payments on account, answering customers’ telephone inquiries as well as general office tasks.

Core Competencies

  • Bilingual (English and French) is a pre-requisite
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written

  • Advanced computer knowledge, especially Excel

Job Duties

  • Reconcile customer accounts as needed or requested 
  • Maintain spreadsheets as required 
  • Answer and manage inbound telephone inquiries 
  • Greet and assist visitors in a courteous manner 
  • Process outgoing mail for both regular and courier mail
  • Operate office machines such as a photocopier, a scanner, a facsimile, a voice mail system, a computer, a shredder, a laminator, an inserter, and a meter machine, etc.
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned when required

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • College diploma in business administration or a similar program would be an asset
  • Experience in a similar position would be considered an asset
  • Bilingual and able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Demonstrated ability to accomplish office tasks
  • Basic knowledge of accounting systems
  • High level proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office
  • High level of personal integrity and strong work ethic
  • Professional/mature demeanor under stressful situations.
  • Excellent teamwork and team building skills
