One of Ontario’s largest AG CO-OPS names new General Manager
 VERNER, January 21, 2018 – The Board of Directors of Co-opérative Régionale    Nip-Sud Ltd. announced this week that Denis Castonguay will be the co-operative’s new general manager effective Feb.5th, 2018.  Mr. Castonguay is succeeding Raymond Savage who is retiring on March 30th, 2018.
Mr. Castonguay has extensive experience in managing financial services in the co-operative sector as well as credit management for a large industrial / mining supply business in Canada.
“Add to this, Mr. Castonguay has a prominent background in working within the co-operative and caisse populaire sector in a variety of capacities throughout his career.” says Jack Wilkinson, Co-opérative Régionale Board president.  “We see this as an added strength; having a good understanding and connection to the co-operative business model and co-operative values are critical.” says Mr. Wilkinson.

Mr. Castonguay is a graduate of Laurentian University, where he earned an Honors Bachelor of Commerce with a specialization in co-operative administration.  He also has a Bachelors’ Degree in computer science.
Mr. Castonguay and his wife Diane, currently live in Mississauga, Ontario and plan to move to the Verner area in the near future.
The Board of Directors and the employees of Co-opérative Régionale Nip-Sud Ltd. wish to thank the outgoing general manager Raymond Savage.   Mr. Savage has been with the co-op since June 4, 1984 and our general manager since October 1, 1992.  During his tenure the co-op has grown substantially, both in volume of business and geographically.  “Under Raymond’s leadership we have created a strong and diverse co-op that makes a difference in our communities; we will miss Raymond around our board table.  We wish Raymond and his wife Suzanne a great retirement” says Mr. Wilkinson.
More than 4,000 members own Co-opérative Régionale Nip-Sud Ltd. from locations in Verner, Chelmsford, Noëlville, Thornloe, New Liskeard, Val Gagné and Echo Bay / Algoma.  Co-opérative Régionale provides products and services in agronomy, feed, grain handling, petroleum products including renewable fuels and propane, and consumer retail needs including two grocery stores located in Noëlville and Verner.  It also operates a fertilizer blender and grain handling facility in the Temiskaming region.  Co-opérative Régionale is a shareholder of GROWMARK, Inc., and markets products and services under the FS banner.
